Testimonials

“I began lessons with Benoit less than a year ago and can only say how much of a pleasure each lesson has been.  Benoit combines an idiomatic knowledge of English with a true understanding of an adult's problems with learning a foreign language, which makes learning French with him so much fun!  I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.  His ability to adapt to your needs is excellent.”

“My family and I moved to France in May 2008, my daughter started school that September. We wanted extra support for our daughter and chose Benoit as many of our friends recommended him to us.  I cannot express strongly enough just how much he has helped her. We have watched her grow in confidence with her understanding and use of the French language. His friendy but professional approach has provided her with structured learning in a comfortable environment, essential for your child.  Throughout her learning Benoit has been very supportive and his teaching has made a noticable improvement (even by her teachers) in her schoolwork. Benoit is an inspiration to us all and always leaves us feeling that we want to learn the language, not that we have too.  This is so important as it makes learning so much more enjoyable. A remarkable teacher and now a wonderful friend.  We would recommend Benoit to anyone wishing to learn the language or who needs help with administration.”

“My roots are Scottish but ten years ago my family and I moved.  I now live in France and before that Belgium and I had no experience with languages apart from English, so I took French lessons, you know the ones where you sit in a small class and a teacher talks and you are expected to absorb the language.  You repeat the verbs and are told the rules, for some this works ; for me it was confusing and when I tried to use what I had been taught it was painful.  I did not enjoy the lessons and was always left feeling like an idiot, I just did not seem to get it.  My move to France brought my need for the language to a head and I was looking for a tutor when I found Benoit.  The good news is that I realise I am not stupid.  I enjoy and laugh a lot during my lessons.  Things are making sense and I have much more confidence in my ability to speak French and I am, much against my will, also writing.  I know that the method Benoit uses works but as my experience has shown me the method is one thing, the teacher however is the important guide, it is their ability to pass on knowledge and to instill confidence that makes the path to a new language one you can travel.  Benoit has a gift and he uses it well.
